Needham Heights, MA (September 24, 2008) – The new Integrated Disposable Optical Transducer (iDOTTM) (patent pending) from Polestar Technologies provides an adhesive-free platform for monitoring oxygen, pH, or carbon dioxide in single-use bioreactors. Designed to work in conjunction with Polestar’s existing Optical Process Monitors, the iDOTTM provides an attractive alternative to traditional sensor probes for bioprocessing disposables. The optical bag ports incorporate Polestar’s USP Class VI-certified sensing films. The sensors are pre-calibrated and can withstand gamma sterilization. Since the bag ports are incorporated into the reactor prior to sterilization, the measurement can be made non-invasively with no risk of contamination or compromise of bag sterility.
